Human bear bait

Thats a friggen nice looking bear! Beautiful white chest!
4 cubs seems like a lot to me, but I don't really know bears, is that unusual?

When a Sow has 4 cubs, it is not unusual. Just means that the berry crop the year before was very good and that is why the sow had an extra cub ;)

I do know a little about bears and their habitat but not to much.

And no.. that picture aint photo shopped.. heh, some people on this forum I tell ya

I gotta agree, nice crest on that momma though.

A beauty of a bear ( black bear ) nice white chest on er ........... I have hunted them over the past 25 years and seen tons of them and I have only once seen a female with three cubs normally only two or one but its nice to know that 4 cubs can be had ............. also the grizzly and the moose are beautiful pictures too ................you have a knack with the camera and may you post more of these pics for all of us to admire take care and happy hunting

Location is right! Who needs bait when there's oats all over the place?

He's got moose, elk, whitetail/mule deer, bear, mountain goat, as well as the odd stray caribou all less than 20 minutes from his doorstep!
Nice pic. Where is that?

Thanks! I'm glad you like the photos. The area is called Lone Prairie. It's the first left after the Pine River bridge going South from Chetwynd to tumbler Ridge. I don't know which is which but one of those hills in the background is called Trapper Mountain and another is Tuskoola (sp?). Collectively I believe they are called the "Elephant" range. Also, if anyone is wondering...he's packing a Marlin 44mag.

Nice pics, love the landscape with the hills/mtn's in the background. Ontario is just too flat....

It's too bad your brother didn't have a camera. I would love to have seen that bear from his perspective!!! I've ran across a few black bears, but nothing that looks to come close to the size of that Mrs.!!

This is my doorstep. Your looking at the end of my driveway. Thanks to all you guys for the comments on the picture. I wasn't exited about the bear so much, as actually having someone actually get a picture of it. The fella taking the picture is a cousin of my wife from St Helens Wash. They were playing tourist when I decided to check out a little patch of oats that some bears had been hitting. I actually had a look and thought there were no bears in there. When they are bellied down eating I guess they are pretty hard to see. When I got halfway across the field and she popped her head up I got pretty exited. It got even worse when I figured out it was a sow and not a boar. I had no interest in shooting a sow, so I just had to get out of there without making her mad. I was pretty lucky, she wasn't mad, she just wanted to keep an eye on me. And by the way, there was a shell in the chamber and my thumb was on the hammer, thats as ready as I get without shooting. I went back that evening and missed a shot at a bigger boar. To keebler 750, i'm not much of a computer whiz, and i never heard of "ps" until I read your post. I have neither the time or the interest in trying to fool a smart feller such as yourself. As for all you other guys, as soon as I figure out how to post a picture on here, I'll get some more on.
Thanks for the comments.
Keep huntin'
