Hungarian AK47

My bro-in-law has a 1987 Hungarian FEG SA85M1 semi auto AK47 styled rifle. It's registered as prohibited however I don't see that model on any of the lists. Does anyone know if this particular rifle is prohibited, and how do you tell if the usual overzealous CFO hasn't just "decided" to make it prohibited. The rifle is stamped "Semi Automatic" on the receiver so if it ain't on the list, apart from looking and smelling like a fully auto AK, its just another semi auto.

Has nothing to do with the CFO. Politicians made the AK47 and all variants except the Valmet M78 and Valmet Hunter prohibited by name through an Order in Council.

I have the same rifle .It is a safe queen now, may be one day I will get to shoot it again.
