Hungry Calgary M14 Clinic 24-25 July 2010 Debrief here!

Unitizing? Nobody has offered a welder (portable TIG/MIG) on a rig service truck yet. BUT , we can shim and tighten up your already pretty tight gas cylinder assembly. Trust me, my old USGI M14's with their battle dimension'ed gas cylinder assemblies shook & sounded like a Christmas ornament. No joking! These recent (last 10 years) Norc and Poly M14's are a super improvement. The Kommunist Zhinese high school shop class got THAT right ! :D

Is anyone willing to provide some welding on Sunday? I know Hungry's ray-vision can cut through steel, but not so sure about welding.

It is going to be a rainy nasty day... so you won't miss the outdoors at all. :p

Anyone?...

Car's packed up. Hitting the road this morning for Wawa and points north of Superior. Those of you who have not paid, hit me up with the $ 35 when you see me at the clinic!!

If anyone else is driving in and camping, my plan is to be at the KOA in West Calgary, over by the Olympic Park. I'll be there Friday some time. Stop by and say hi. I'll be on a Harley and wearing a vest that says "Combat Veterans International". Hard to miss. See you there.

Everyone psyched for this? Looks like I'll be up at 0415 to get my butt to Calgary from Edmonton.... and a trip to Bass Pro on the way back is in the books.....

I have a strong feeling the hot weather will keep me from making it on Sunday! Hungry, if anyone is looking for a spot on Sunday, it might be best to let them take my spot. As much as I'd like to go, if some fires break out in the Peace region and I'm down in Calgary, I'm gonna be kicking myself!

PM sent to you as well.

Well, I am officially out. I was going to ride the bike from Vancouver to Calgary to California, then home, but I have had to add Albuquerque to the roster and just didn't have the energy to leave this morning (plus I had some carryover from work that I needed to get done today). I won't be able to make it now which is too bad. Sorry and have fun.

It's late on Fri evening. Looks like we have a couple of cancellations. If you feel you must come and it's quite late to PM me here in Turner Valley... show up at TSE and we will still be a the magic number of 20 bodies in there. BOTH Sat and Sun have a couple of iffy no-show cancellations. :D

Hi,

I just realuzed that I stupidly booked Sunday for the clinic and to be out of town the same day . I'll come by tomorrow, and if there's room I hope you don't mind me switching days (I paid for sunday) if it's an imposition, just let me know and someone can have my spot on Sunday - apologies,
mike (ginfaxi)

What a great time today! Learned so much and met great people. If anyone is dithering on attending one of Hungry's clinics, don't miss it or your #### will fall off. His words sorta. Hungry for P.M.

Just got home from the class and must say I had a great time. I learned a lot about my rifles and am glad I went. Hungry runs a relaxed course with tons of instructional info followed up with hands on playtime. Any and all questions answered. Terrific plus was the class had a great bunch of guys who shared what knowledge they had too. Highly recommended and thanks Hungry!

I'm really jealous of your shootin' irons buckaroo, wish I had your budget. Great seeing what high end looks like, sure has me thinking.

I'm back in my temporary home in Turner Valley now. What a long day. Lots of great learning and many laughs networking with you CGNutter M14 lovers. Thanks to TSE JR who made all this a reality. He is such a great community builder! :D

Big thanks to TSE Brian for letting me in early both days and of course TSE Justin for helping me out every chance he could with any local resources (extension cord).

Thanks to all you CGNutters from all over AB and SK (yes, they were present)... it truly was a pleasure delivering the M14 love!

Gotta lay down now,.... I'm beat! :D
