Ground hogs will stand up to see you but a badger only shows from the snout up when looking at you. Harder to hit and not much more target than a gopher laying down. A buddy did a 200 yard shot on one with his .223 and 3200 scope. I hope to do as well this year with my BSA .222 and 3200. 50grain V-Max at 3200 or better should do the job. I have taken a few groundhogs( wood chucks, Marmots) with .22 LR but was close. Just as big a smile when hits are on gophers at 200 that weigh about one twentieth of the groundhog.
