Hunt Recommendation

For the experience absolutely...for the trophy quality likely not as much.

if I wanted trophy quality only I would book with a prairie outfitter and drive around in a truck glassing the ranches like they do on TV!

As I said, I have many years do hunt like that. hunting via backpack in the alpine might be limited to how long I can stay healthy and mentally tough enough to do it. Maybe I am overestimating the difficulty increase with age but a wise old hunter once told me to do all the tough stuff when you are young and full of pizz and vinegar.

I rally appreciate the responses guys. Thank you.

Not bad advice......but it is possible to keep your pizz and vinegar levels pretty high until well into your 50s....lol

Yes, I have hunted with Ram Creek twice. A great experience. When something is physically challenging, being younger helps. Throw the mental side of it into the hunt, you can't beat experience. I agree with the "Sheephunter". As long as you are physically able, there is nothing that says you can't hunt in your later years. I turned 52 this year, and I did a very good job of keeping up with my guide this fall. Did I mention he was 21 years old. I am hoping to go back to Ram Creek in the near future for a goat hunt.
