Hunt with a 303?

Does anyone still hunt with a 303?

When I was a kid, it seemed like folks either had a sporterized Lee Enfield or a Winchester 94 30-30. Anything else in my neck of the woods was a rarity.

Those are exactly what I use. My .303 was sporterized by Churchill Gunmakers if my hunch is correct. (that's what it says on the Buttpad )

Started hunting with one but have since safe'd it and only bring it out for shooting off a box, open-sighted fun.

Md I think you have your answer! I've had 3 .303's over the years. They've all worked out fine for me. I don't have one at the moment but will aquire one over the winter.

When I was 16, I was given my Grandfather's BSA .303 and I started hunitng with it then. That was 22 years ago and it still goes with me to the camp (even if I carry one of my newer fancier rifles now) It's like my good luck charm... maybe I'm superstitious afterall.

It's in great shape and has taken at least ten deer for me and took alot more for him.

It's great to hear that others still use the old .303.

I had planed to use my 303 this year but ran out of hunting seasion. I think I may toon it up for next year.
