Hunter and his dog missing in Northern BC ----> UPDATE: Dog Proved Not to be Murphy!

Interesting never heard of snow nose before.
But this is interesting.
The nose loses its normal dark pigment, turning pink or light brown
Sounds like the nose will go pink from being in the cold, not the other way around.

It's quite the thing, especially before you know what it is, and sometimes people don't even believe you! Some dogs it's much worse than others though, as our crew of werewolves here are 2 for 3 with winter nose. I'm sure come late spring they'll be back to normal.

So the dog is found 200km from the search area. That’s a lot of woodland ground to cover. They have been missing awhile so distance could be done but doesn’t sound like well prepared for woods travel and long term survival. Food and shelter takes time and also travelling 200km. Wondering if the dog had a since of direction and was trying to get home.

And supposedly crossed two rivers during this trek

From the CBC:
The dog was reportedly found near Mile 95 Road near the community of Wonowon, about 100 kilometres northwest of where Barnes was last seen.
And this:
Donally, who also breeds golden retrievers, says Murphy was a red-haired golden without distinctive markings, which is why the vet and Sawyer wanted to get additional opinions, especially since the nose and fur of golden retrievers can change colour with weather, diet and health.

So, the Dog is alive/found...200KMS from his Truck? & his truck has his supplies & firearms in it? It's foul play, or a medical issue..but, he'd prob be near his truck, if medical..so foul play or he got snatch from a predator... ¿ ... if the Dog is that far away, means..he's been gunning it since around the beginning of this lads disappearance.

One Hundred KM from his truck.
Not sure where the 200KM came into the story as all the articles state 100km

Maybe it is not even the right dog...

What I read was that the lady confirmed it, and when she took the dog to familiar places, he recognized them and acted accordingly.

Still waiting on DNA so the cops will resume the search however. I don't understand sitting on their hands though when the dog is apparently found. Wasting days when there might be a chance he's still alive, or at least closure for the poor family.

I suppose dna could also be compared by testing dog hair and items at the owners home to the results of the rescued dog.
I am hoping it is the actual dog though, at least his story ends with good people coming to his rescue

I would never guess those are photos of the same dog. Pretty hopeful thinking if you ask me.
Totally different lighting, and one being a pampered, happy relaxed dog. And the other being the dog who experienced nature's cruelty and harshness for the first time. With scabs, puncture wounds, broken swelled paw, lost his owner, and been out on his own for weeks, uncared for, dirty and scared. 😢

I can see it, especially looking at the picture of him resting with his paw bandaged.

The other owner believes so, and has brought him to familiar places to see how he reacts.
