Hunter now hunted: Animal activists protest trade show

Haha funny video. I would have listened to what they had to say and invited them into the trade show to learn more about the issues they so vehemently oppose. Then I would have invited them to my private hunting/wildlife preserve to see what a conservationist really is. Most conservationists were or are hunters, but not all hunters are conservationists.

If these protestors wanted to really make a difference they would be joining forces and pooling resources with hunters and conservation organizations to buy and protect habitat. Hunters are the only hope wildlife has at surviving outside of a zoo. If you want to protect wildlife then you must own the land that sustains it. Africa is so far ahead of Canada when it comes to wildlife conservation. Perhaps one of the only things that Africa does better.

So what happen then with "Legal Bow FamousLion hunter " He also paid BIG money officialy but something goes wrong.

This is one of the reason these show are of importance. It allows prospective hunters to go out and meet owners or representatives of the guiding service so that they can conduct proper research and do their due diligence before making a decision. These protestors are basically trying to interfere with honest people who want to act responsibly by looking to learn about the different guides and services they offer to be able to make a better decision and avoid these issues you speak of.

I did not attend the show. But if I did, and I got blind sided by attacks from strangers, I could have very well put someones dentist into another tax bracket. Good on those people to have maintained a level head and ignore the freak show they were confronted with and move along as though they didnt exist.

We attended the show to show support although we didn't exhibit this year, maybe next year.

For those that know us you will see us in the clip.More importantly In the CTV news video you will see a couple with their children talking to one of the outfitters, should have seen the protesters harass the children when they came through the line (that's the stuff that needed to make the news, absolutely shameful). We were there pretty early and didn't even bother trying to talk with the protesters as Mr. Megaphone just shouted anything out you had to say ... luckily my gunners ears from all those years of defending their right to protest weren't really affected by the volume. The banging on the hood of the car really rattled my wife and we just parked across the way, they just wanted us to confront them physically and I told her we had to take the high road here, police were not present as it was early and the one officer there didn't do a thing. Looking at some of the later footage it seems the police at least gained some semblance of control as there was no presence early in the show! These same groups have already targeted us for protest at the Toronto Sportsmen Show. The key here is these guys are anti hunting anti gun anti everything period.. It was nice to meet some of you there and thanks for coming out in support!!

I must admit, I thought the report done by CTv was pretty good..... And the hunters and outfitters came out on top....

Protestors: Shouted at Hunter asking him if he was an idiot, made up of childish chants and rhymes, looked generally foolish including one frantically trying to climb a tree to hang a lame homemade sign on private property.... Their best spokesperson was a young girl named Remington who had nothing to add except telling people to be ethical....

Hunters: Attacked nobody, went about their business, gathered info at the show and attended with family..... We had two great outfitter spokeswomen with actual experience provide a logical and relevant point of view... Heck, one of them was even smoking hot!

I think we won this one.....

When getting harassed like that by absolute psychos that know nothing about what they are talking about.... I do not know how you folks kept your cool...

That said, next year myself and my son are making a point of attending a show. We were unfortunately unable to go this year.

You did win. That's how you handle a protest. You can't control the protestors you can only control yourself. Supress the near overwhelming urge to punch someone in the face and go about your business.

The anti's are a bunch of cowards. They don't have the balls to do it themselves, so, they hire an assassin to do it for them, go to the store and buy it already cut wrapped and frozen. They sit around the table devouring their steaks, chickens, turkeys and lamb chops with a smug smile on their faces. Bunch of hypocrites that cannot be educated about the hunting world.

Yes,

The protesters were a disorganized rabble. Totally ill disciplined. They looked bad on the news even though the media did their best to make them look good. On the second day there were only 5-6 protesters left and had reduced themselves to screaming names and below the belt insults. It would have been nice to have a larger hunter presence and I imagine the loss of venue twice had an impact. As hunters we need to approach this type of event as a line in the sand. The anti's are not rational, they do not have any ethical issues with lies or bullying. Rest assured if they win on African hunting they will immediately turn to our hunting at home. United we stand or divided we fall just as with firearms.

Those protesters are so aggressive. Wtf? They act like they are brainwashed.

They are, because they allow themselves to be. The number of people who seem to be proud of the fact that they're ignorant is growing exponentially. I believe the general population on this planet has never lacked as much knowledge as currently, and that's in regard to everything, not just hunting and guns.
"I don't know and I don't care, but I have an opinion."

I work with a couple fellows from Africa. They said they never heard of such stupidity as anti-hunters in North America. They said do you really think Africans care about a few animals when the average wage is less than $150/mth? They said most Africans love eating "bush meat" as they called game and said any animal such as a Lion was gladly killed to prevent it eating them.

Indeed. They are killers by proxy and they criticize those who have the balls to do the killing. Willfully ignorant, hypocritical cowards.

Too bad someone didn't have a can of expandable foam. Megaphone would have been real quiet.

What a great idea! Surely if protestors are allowed to bang on the hoods of peoples cars, one would be allowed to foam a megaphone shut....especially if the megaphone bandit is using it to bust your ear drums. When I was viewing the video, i was thinking along the lines of an airhorn and blasting anyone who approached me
