Hunter orange for small game - ontario

Well hot dang - here I was sure it was a legal requirement in ON for any gun hunting - except migratory and turkey hunting. I still plan to wear it while hunting, but it's nice to know that if I forget my cap or something, I don't have to go back.

I’m just glad I’m not the only one that had that notion stuck in my head for some reason.

Well, I always have, but I’m going to go do a little squirrel hunting this weekend in a small (25 acres) bush lot that belongs to a family friend. She doesn’t allow anyone else on the property, and there’s only one way in. I’ll be hunting solo. So if there’s no one else’s cross hairs to get in front of, why bother? But If I were there with a friend, then yeah, I’d throw a vest and hat on.

But to be prepared just in case some trespasser jumps a fence, well, then I suppose I’d have to wear orange when hiking, cutting wood, or any other time I’m out there too.

Psssst....squirrel closed Dec 31 for all WMU's listed...
