Hi guys, I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this.

But does any one know of any hunter safety courses being held around the Shelburne, Guelph, Orangeville area over the next month in Ontario? Iv been searching but have yet been able to find any courses at this time of year.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

go to ohep.net and click courses then find a course near you. If there is nothing listed for your city, click find an instructor and send them an email.

Did my firearms course with Jeff Peacock in Guelph, and the hunting course at Shooter's Choice in Waterloo, the instructor's name was Rob Roe I think. Both guys do both firearms and hunting, or at least both did at the time. Jeff Peacock is listed on Ontario hunter education directory h ttp://www.ohep.net/. I'd recommend both. As I remember the course at Shooter's Choice was run over 6 evenings. I think I got more out of it because of the spread-out format, rather than trying to pack it all into a weekend.

That's great guys. Thanks for the input, ill check out Jeff Peacock and ohep.net. I am hoping to do my hunters safety course, and my girlfriend has expressed interest in getting her Pal and safety course as well. Not bad for a girl who 3 years ago didn't see the point of owning fire arms in southern Ontario.

If there are no courses available, I know there is a weekend course in Alvinston (if you don't mind driving) coming up in February I believe. I can get more info if you want. My brother signed up for it. Can't wait to get him in the field.

most you have to get a month or 2 before it starts, they fill fast cause the max # of ppll that can go in each course. get a hold of the guy who owns part buisness at the gun center in kitchener, he does a bunch of courses, check his website www.jimsalisbury.com theres an open day on the 21st

Trying to get a course set up in Mount Forest with Armstrong. He wont run it til he gets enough students. The same with Shooters Choisce. You apply for course but it wont start until they get enough applicants.

Hey guys, just felt I would follow up. I ended up doing the course at wolfs den outside of Barrie. It was a little more expensive but turned out to be a good course. Very long though, the Pal portion started at 6:30 and some of tr guys were there till 9 at night doing the test. (We dodged the bullet as we already have our PAL's)

How ever the hunting portion was great, thanks for every ones help and suggestions.
