Hunters 4, Wolves 1

Never seen this thread b4....:runaway:

Calves are not much bigger than a larger whitetail buck.

Next time just quarter it and carry the friggen thing out.

Or at the very least...quarter it and hang it from a larger tree.

We did a Bull one year.

Took us until 7 A.M (12 hours later) to get it cleaned, quartered and drug back to the truck(200 ft. away).

We left 4 out of our 5 moose overnight in the bush last fall. Hung a hat on them, no predators near any of them...

Awesome thread. :D:D:D

I think any canine would just piss over the piss to claim the moose. That meat must have been thoroughly marinated.

Into day 4 of a 10 day hunt.

we dropped a small calf on Monday:) . It was 6 pm, so between gutting and keeping mama at bay, didn't finish until well into dark.

With no ATV, we left it on its belly (draining with a few logs under for ventilation), until the AM. we all had a piss on the outer fur to prevent predators.

By the following AM a f**king wolf had managed to chew right down to one hipbone, taking out 25-30 pounds of prime meat in the process:mad:

Is there anything that works to keep predators at bay in these situations where you have to leave the animal overnight and can't hang it high up in a tree? We heard leaving your clothes on the animal but if pissing doesn't work, I don't see how clothes will.

anyway, back at it. comments and suggestions gratefully accepted.

Cheers

How about going prepared...........

The wolves think the same way :D
