cant wait to test it out in the field
it works, depending on camera weight you will prob have to tighten the strap on your hat for a tighter fit.
All i did was poke a hole though the bill of the hat and pushed the bolt through. I used a 1/2" bolt i had laying around that just happend to have the right thread pitch. (i belive its 20tpi) a washer on each side of bill helps keep camera tight

I would suggest a long camera strap that goes around your neck. Optex makes a nice soft one that you can use. This way if your hat falls or something, the camera won't hit the ground.

also an option...but what about for the bow hunter or fisherman?

im going to play around with the placement of the bolt.
i think if its closer to the back it wont be as heavy.. maybe a strap to secure it to the hat itself will help.
total cost besides a hat and camera should be well under $5

Pretty sure you mean a 1/4 inch bolt.

There a few companies making small cams now like the one Qhergt mentioned, and they work great. A buddy of mine has one he uses while snowmobiling, and a lot of guys doing bmx use them also, great video images.
