I recently moved to Southern Ontario from the prairies and I am having a heck of a time find land that I can hunt on. Anyone have any leads or where I might look to find some? This year I can only take a crack at deer or maybe bear realistically but going forwars Id look at most anything.

Any insights or leads would be much appreciated.

Let people know what Southern Ontario means. Southern Ontario is 10 plus hours to drive from one end to the other.

I live near the gta. Anything within a day's drive would be super helpful. Not fussed about a long drive or which direction. Thanks

Lived in Guelph area in the mid 70's and moved away because of the population density. My friend you are now in the highest density of people in Canada. Lots of very nice attractions in that area. Large tracts of available hunting is not one of them. Get real lucky and find a local who hunts, that would be a good beginning. Good luck and good hunting.

Should be something in your area. Depends on how far you want to travel. Lots of good public in Grey County (30,000+ acres). Most Conservation Authorities and county forests have areas where hunting is allowed. Lots of time i have hunted areas in Grey where i have the entire tract to myself on week days and often enough on week ends as well once rifle season is over.

I've never been there but Simcoe County Forest is close, you just have to be careful you're on a tract that allows hunting. I recall a few years ago there were some changes so make sure you get the latest info. Otherwise, like others have said, hop on the 115 then 28 north to the Bancroft area and knock yourself out. :)

hey yomomma hows the hunt camp coming along

Could be better. My son screwed up my plans by buying a house and getting married last month. Have a planned trip end of the month for some trail cutting and bridge building. Following month do some clear cutting.

Cabin is designed on AutoCAD. I am planning on buying lumber over the winter and precutting/fitting the rafters.

Hopefully helicopter lift should happen after the spring run off receeds.

Luther Marsh, simcoe county forest , and safari road flamborough has 2 tracts of crown land one is shotguns only but you’re better off trying to ask farmers for permission to hunt deer or turkey that’s what I did

And no Sunday hunting in Hamilton

I am in a similar situation. I am located in Windsor and there is no crown land near by. Only option I guess is to ask someone, but as a new hunter myself I do not know how to go about doing this
