Im fairly new to the idea of rifle hunting, all i can use in the gulf islands where i live is a shotgun but im thinking of going for a weekend campout this fall and would like to take my .303 with me and hopefully get a deer while im out. I live fairly close to the Nanaimo lakes but dont know how the hunting is around that area, is it too congested with hunters... accesability.... forestry gates etc. Last year i went near parksville and the silly place had rules where you couldn't get in till 7am and had to be out by 4pm. I usually like to hunt at dusk so that seemed as pointless as it was fruitless. Not to mention camping was out of the question.
