Hunting big game with slingshot

Some guy was selling slingshots with an arrow rest that folded down. I think it was called sling-bow? This might be good for survival, depending on how close you could get to your prey, although at the range this guy was shooting at a spear might be better and simpler.

For survival a spear might be better I agree.

I think i would just shoot sh!t with a gun, but I am a bit weird and not much of a survivalist :shotgun: :p :p :p
 
We do extreme deer hunting.....all you need is a Butt Out 2 . Wait in your stand for a deer to come by, as it`s feeding,jump down and shove the Butt Out in it's sphincter, it will gut itself as it runs away, no muss, no fuss :D
 
"if yeh cant get 10 yards from a deer somethins wrong" "yer not doin somthin rite in the woods" ... Ill stick with my compound thanks...Heck Id trust those little dinky 80 lbs crossbows (pistol ones) over that idea.

Really? What about knapping one out of glass, flint, obsidian or some other type of conchoidal fracturing stone? How about using the Whisker Biscuit instead of the metal ring?

Independent critical thinking? I don't think theirs a snowballs chance in hell 99% of people could kill a deer with this thing. Or make an arrowhead out of obsidian for that matter.

Have you any idea how long people have been making arrowheads from obsidian or any other conchoidal type fracturing stone...like flint, for instance??? Can you say 'stone ages', Batman???

I'd have far more faith in a "caveman" making an arrowhead then the average person from a large city.

Im well aware how long humans have been making weapons. I just have no faith that the average person in todays society could make a slingshot a reliable big game weapon.
