hunting bigfoot

Over the years have talked to old timers that have seen things that couldn’t be explained and were reluctant to talk about them and had nothing to gain by lying.

This is the experience of many people. There are far too many credible people - experienced hunters, game wardens, police and generally well seasoned backcountry outdoorsmen thst have seen something thru could not explain. But you open yourself to ridicule. So why bother trying ?

My good friend Steve has a YouTube channel howtohunt. He discusses this often and has a couple of books about different individuals experiences. It’s worth checking out if the topic is of interest to anyone on this thread.

Yes indeed. Both him and David Pallides of Missing411 are very interesting.

And from two differing professions, an experienced hunting guide and the other an experienced investigator.

Lots of thing happen that we can’t explain. But that doesn’t mean it was a Bigfoot
Hell I can’t figure out how I put a pair of socks in the dryer and end up with one

The world is full of unexplained g to things. But there is an answer if we look hard enough. I’d bet my life Bigfoot isn’t one of those answers.

I don’t think your open to ridicule if you explain what happened or what you may have seen and say I can’t explain that. The ridicule starts when you claim you know it was a Bigfoot

Or it starts when someone states with 100% certainty that it wasn't Bigfoot. In my experience, aside from death and taxes, the only real certainty in life is human arrogance. The world is flat, end of story. Anyone who disagrees is a heretic and should be publicly ridiculed, flogged and excommunicated from society. Because science.

I don't know if Bigfoot exists or not, though based on the testimony of a number of credible Yukoners I know, I wouldn't discount it and would remain open to the possibility. There are more things in heaven and earth than dreamed of in our philosophy.

I look at it this way.
As soon as I got my drivers license I was fishing every day I could.
I grew up here in BC , in the lowermainland and by 20 I had fished every creek, slough, and backwater of every river in the vancouver lowermainland region. Even fished down in washington state. By 25 I was an accomplished steelheader and that took me on many adventures in the BC back country as did the float tube flyfishing hiking hours and spending several days at remote lakes in the lower half of the province. Then by my late 20's I dove eyeball deep into hunting and again spent as much time as I could with a rifle or a fishin rod in hand.
So like many ouutdoorsman from BC, I have seen everything from the sea to land and most of the creatures that exist in this province.
White moose exist here..... haven't seen one
white/blue phase bears exist here..... haven't seen one
but here is where it gets interesting..... cougars are plentiful here.... I'm 52 , live in the interior..... I've seen 5
Lynx - I've seen 3
pine martins -- I've seen a handful
- here's a good one..... the elusive Badger..... I have seen 2.... which I'm told I'm lucky as they are seldom seen even though we have Badger crossing signs on the hwy at the north end of town LOL
and fish..... the elusive fish farm escaped Altantic salmon in the chehalis river (famous sasquatch area). In the early 90's I caught the first atlantic salmon to be seen in the chehalis river system. Everyone was pretty shocked over that one..... the hatchery staff at the river whisked it away , took my info and I got a hat and a pin in the mail a couple months later.
-sasquatch..... I would have to say once and I've told that story , probably earlier in this thread LOL

anyhow.... moral of the story? If you don't live in BC it's pretty hard to fathom the back country here. I think it would be pretty easy for a creature like the sasquatch to survive off the land and avoid all human contact 99.99999% of the time.

and how many of us who hunt and have been in prime deer/moose/elk or bear country and come up empty and often times not even laying eyes on the quarry you seek?

I think it is closed minded to flat out deny that these things do exist as much as it is closed minded to think that this rock we live on is the only rock in the entire universe with life like us on it.

Check out the Josh Highcliff video if you've never seen it. Pretty amazing better than the Patterson video imo. I don't know how to put the link up any help would be great.

Its a video of a huge creature ripping apart a stump looking for grubs i think. Things huge and video amazing. I don't think its a black bear it stands up on two legs at the end.

The enhanced version. One thing that was odd is how when he runs away he points his phone almost downwards towards his feet. Try that with your phone. Seemed disappointingly staged.

But we have to remember we no issue believing in God, then we do in a barely if ever seen primate https://youtu.be/2tp0UNcjzl8

If they do exist it is only because they have been smart enough to hide from humans and stay far away from where we go. If they do exist, someday someone will produce a body of one.

Thanks for posting. 20 seconds into the video you can see it pull on the stump pretty clear and its back muscles, power and leverage are extremely impressive. I'm 6.2" 220lb use to be quite strong and quick before this lockdown and not able to go to the gym for over a year now. I couldn't do that not even close.

Not sure about the running or what kind of phone he had. The guy said he was 50 yards away which is pretty far for a cell phone video in the bush. Even the modern cell phones if you don't buy an expensive one the cameras are garbage. I thought it was a great video and find it strange someone would pull a fake of it ripping a tree stump apart.

Everyone has there own opinion though.

Personally I prefer to not see anything that rocks my belief system that modern society imposes upon us.

It's often too costly to our reputation when we are in full swing of making a living and quite often raising a family.

Just be prepared for bears in the wild and be alert folks.
Dogs are a great early warning system.
Also nearby wildlife stirring could cue you into a local danger.
Example a flock of birds explode into flight with no apparent predator in view to yourself.

Remember Pandas were a myth until 1916. Until you actually experience seeing one its easy to say take a picture, sure this last time I had a phone in my pocket but the shock was so overwhelming I didn't even think of getting out the camera. Its like your brain is trying to process what you're seeing and by then the encounter was over. I've heard some say that the motion detector on trail cams can be seen/felt by these creatures and account for the lack of trail cam footage, but who knows. So once again until until you have had this encounter, don't criticise or demean those of us who have. And, since my last encounter I have not gone into the bush hunting or fishing at all. Might try again this fall, but I'm honestly not sure.

Really? A slow and gentle animal of that size native to central China was unknown until then?

Loads of people are dim witted nits despite the information age and computers.
Watched River Monsters episode in Northern England.

A Greenland shark washed up dead on the shore beach.
Seems everybody wanted to call it a sea monster and some dim witted blonde wanted to call it a seal or sealion.

People are dim.

Perhaps the worst episode of River Monsters by far.

Spoke to some elder members of the camp tonight as were preparing for bear hunts in the coming weeks .talk got around strange things and an older member told me of a hunt camp member that quit hunting while he was on stand. This was before my time in the 70s.aparently they were going out for a deer drive by the swamps as there was no sign of wildlife while on stands.they stringed 5 hunters around the swamps and three doggers went in a line and as they aproached a stander the stander would join the dogger making it a wider and tighter net. One of the standers was but on a huge rock where he could see the clearing in the swamp. When the dogger reached where the dropped of the stander he was not there . He called out thinking he had gone for a dump and no answer so the dogger thinking he left his stand continued till the end of the drive. When not there they all walked to camp and the standers truck and gear were gone .the nearest phone booth was about 1 1/2 hours away .they called to make sure he arrived safely near dinnertime and the stander had just gotten home and answered.they asked why he left and he said he didntwant to talk about it. After the trip my friend tried calling him and the guy refused to talk about it and said he quit fishing and hunting in the woods.another member went to visit him and cameby my friends shop with a winchester 3030 , a 303 brit rifle and an old winnie shotgun and said pic one.my bud asked what happened and he said the owner saw something and didnt want to talk about it and gave his guns to be spread out to each member as he quit hunting and just wanted to be left alone for a while. Some of the people in this group are well known in there field of work so my bud told me to omit all names.
Take it as it is ,what would make someone just flat out abandoneverything.
my bud said that speculation between other members made everyone off and many switched to 300 mags and 338s

Well, even if Bigfoot does exist, if you do end up shooting one it's more likely to be a guy in a Bigfoot costume you've just killed.

Ya maybe but once you get into some really really remote areas and see just how easy it would be to an animal like that hide or even exist for a short period of time out there it makes you think.
