One of the areas im allowed to hunt is a grassy farmers field, and used my 6-9 bipod. I've sold it now to sweeten a deal on another sale, so Im back in the market. I liked the one I had, except that the springs did make some noise when setting up.

My buddy just got a UTG recon, seems really well made and lots of adjustment but its 3x the price and weighs more. I also only have a sling swivel to work off of.

Should I rebuy the one I had, just start packing an extra sweater and shoot off my bookbag, or splurge on something higher end? I don't want to be carrying it through the woods for hours so quick connect is essential.

What I had:

Where I hunt:

I just got the Spartan Javelin bipod, it has a magnetic adapter that attaches to the sling swivel. I got the long 8"-12". It's made of aluminum and carbon fibre so it's lightweight. I didn't want a bipod that stayed on the rifle all the time, I wanted something that would attach quickly when needed. It looks to be well made but a little pricey like everything else. I haven't had a chance to test it in the field yet, but don't foresee any problems.

Small Harris bipod.

Keeps the gun off the ground when you put it down.

Not much other use!

Otherwise, choose one that fits with your shooting style and capabilities.
