Can anybody recommend a blind brand that is ok for Ontario type terrain? Want something for Deer and Turkey, gun and crossbow use. I have looked on Cabelas and the reviews seem to be all over the place. Whats a good choice?

How is it quality wise? The reviews seem mixed on Cabelas with some people saying the zipper breaks easily? Hows yours lasted?

I need a comfy place for a decent sleep ;)

Bass pro has a redhead enigma pop up blind on sale for 119 reg 199...so I bought 2! Holds 2 people no problem, you can shoot your crossbow through no problems, folds up and down in a flash

ive had mine about 3 years now..could even be 4 years..zippers still all in tact..they are not 100% water proof...but ive spent whole days in it in pissing rain and stayed dry..floor space is 5 ft x5 ft and highest point is about 5 ft 8 inch..
if you get one..do as i did..go dumpster diving and get a comfortable computer swivel based chair

So when you shoot, do you just blast right through the mesh? Or does the window open up? How much room is there in there? Do you think I would have room for a small table and stove to make coffee and grill sausages while I wait?

This could help right?

^damn that looks pretty good. I have a mini pop up picnic table that will fit in it. How long does it take to put up? Is it hard to do in the dark? Do you recommend tent pegs as well? Anything you dont like about it?

the pegs that come with it are the ####s,and yes on on windy day you will need therm(but i,ll fix you up with good ones;))...it takes only a few minutes to set up..theres a bunch of videos on youtube about setting them up..go see for yourself

I bought the dog house one like "Fogducker's" from Bass pro last Fall on sale.
Havent used it yet, price was right had to buy.
I have 2 others i bought 7 or 8 years ago.
Zipper broke on first one but it wasnt the "dog house" model.
2nd one is a "doghouse" still in great condition.
I set up best one for the week on my best spot on our farm, while the one with the broken zipper i use for a fast setup if i want to hunt at a different place for a short time.
It came with a round LED light with clear , green and red lights so you can set it up in the dark if you like. We set ours up day before hunt and leave all week.
They are very comfortable and with the right chair you can catch "Z's" when it gets warm and quiet during mid day.
During the off season i scotch guard them to make them water proof.

all 4 sides of this blind..you can poke a cross bow out the opening with no problem....i think the zipper problem stems from ppl with more muscle then brain

I have the Doghouse also. It fits two office chairs and my Canadian Tire folding metal saw horse that I use as a gun rest right under one of the windows. As mentioned they are water resistant not water proof, so I seam sealed all the seams and that really helped, only a little bit of water drizzles down the walls from the zippers if it rains real hard, but never touches me,

Watch the video on how to fold it back up, or you will go nuts trying to put it away following the instructions that came with it. Its really easy to set up and take down, literally a couple minutes and its done.

Its amazing how much warmth the tent holds, and being able to get out of the wind means you can stay out longer on those cold days.

I am not sure how much snow the tent could hold, but last year it snowed a few inches and it help up nice, but I learned that you should knock the snow off before you go in because once your body heats warms the inside, the snow starts to slide off, and it makes a bit of noise.

I like to buy from local suppliers, but once again I seen the tent here for $100+ and I believe I paid $45 at Natchez.

me and a buddy both have doghouse blinds on my property and they work very well, the only problem we have with them is that we always keep them out too long in the season and they end up callapsing with the heavy snow and we have to replace the two tent pole style cross braces at the top. they're a little tight for two 200+ men in them but work well. some people have trouble the first couple of times putting them away with the whole folding and twisting to put it back in the carry bag.
just picked up a double bull darkhorse last week and set it out for turkey's, picked it up on sale for 229$ with free shipping in the US. much more expensive but a whole lot better blind in my opinon. much thicker almost canvas like material but much heavier to lug around then most other blinds. a real ##### the first time putting it up but once i got the hang of it i did it in seconds. a whole lot of room. this is the second hub blind i pick up. my first hub style was an ameristep and the thin material ripped in several spots last year, didn't last half the season.
shop around a little. lots of different models available.

I'm a doghouse guy too
Mine stays out all turkey season
I like camping chairs in them personally
This year I plan to get one of those with the side table
I have my coffee, snacks, and a gameboy
Gun and ammo too ofcourse
I've had a few good sleeps in it and woke up to clucks and gobbles

I got the Primos Escape Deluxe because I need the room..lol
It is 77 inches square with a 75 in. ceiling height. I was able to do jumping jacks during deer season to get my tootsies warm.It also has a large zippered roof opening for shooting geese. It had everything I was looking for.
