Hunting Bullet Choice

I think we are getting this finally.
Link to this video is below.

I think that it is irresponsible to recommend bullets containing lead for hunting if you hunting for meat.

I was hunting with bullets containing lead most of my life now I know better....
Metallic lead being ingested by humans is a non-issue. I've been eating lead-shot game all my life, I'm sure that I swallowed 1/2 a can of air rifle pellets in my youth (one at a time, of course), my house's copper supply plumbing is soldered with 50/50 solder (I did it myself) and I smelt lead and cast lead bullets.
100 micrograms per decilitre of blood, in adults, and 40 micrograms per decilitre of blood in children, is cause for concern. With all my lifetime lead exposure, my level is 5 micrograms per decilitre of blood, yup... 5, not 50, not even 15... 5 .

(of course it should be pointed-out that the ideal lead level in your blood is
0.0 no one has that level in Canada; but it is the ideal)

Of course if you want to shoot lead-free bullets, there's nothing wrong with it. You're reducing the cost, perhaps soon they'll be cheap enough that I'll consider using them.

I am using Matrix Bonded Core bullets made right here in Canada. Big grizzly down last Fall with one shot with the 270 gr 9.3, and heading out tomorrow to try out the 140 gr 7mm on a black bear.

I have used all these bullets successfully.

Before I began handloading:
Remington Cor-Lokt
Federal Power-Shok
Winchester Silver Tip
Nosler Partition

The reason I took up handloading, was so I could get the Nosler Partition in whatever weight-caliber I wanted. Back then, it wasn't available in all calibers over-the-counter, like it is today.

Handloading:
Nosler Partition
Nosler Accubond
Hornady Interlock
Hornady Interbond
Speer Hot Cor
Speer Grand Slam
Woodleigh Weldcore

I'm going bear hunting in another week, and I'll be packing the 9.3x62. I have some handloads to test (this morning when I get off work). Norma Oryx, Norma Alaskan, Nosler Partition or Hornady Interlock, which I know that any of those will work.

Preliminary testing was with 286gr Nosler P's, avg 2321fps MV. I'm expecting pretty much that velocity with each of these other 3 loads.

When I go bear hunting, I'm also going to have the M-1895 Winchester, .405Win, loaded with 300gr Woodleigh Weldcores and I'll have the M-700 Remington Classic 8x57, loaded with 200gr Nosler Accubonds, in case I have to take a long shot (on wolves).

If I had to choose only 1 bullet for the rest of my life, in any cartridge, it would be the Nosler Partition.
