hunting cabin part2

That's pretty slick. So they hired your buddy to deliver them they came and finished the rest of the build?

I might be interested in one, I'm just up HWY 41 a ways. What is the dimensions of the cabin and what is it with the cabin and the deck?

Yeah they aren't allowed to drive a motor vehicle so have to hire for delivery, they came out with him and set it up that morning in a snow storm .... not the best day for it but they told me it would be there that day and it was.
I think the snow actually helped slide it off the trailer and into place.

The cabin is 16' X 12' and the porch is 16' X 6' along the one side.
They can build longer but 12' is the widest.

Build a base and then buy a garage package that way if you get building inspectors sicked on you your trusses are engineered

That's great, nice size for hunting cabin. I gotta look into my area to see if I can get away with no permit as well.

How would I contact these Amish if I wanted to buy similar cabin?

They are true Amish no phone no internet, you have to go see them to order.

If I was doing it all over again I would have considered a few other things that I didn't when I built a small cabin in 1994.
Seeing as you own the land I would really think about the potential of adding on additions down the road. The size seems okay now but things change. That may affect the first design.
Consider where the actually building is going to sit and on what ; things like drainage, potential flooding with wetter seasons, storage of large items, possibility of insulating the floor later are factors on where and how high it sits.
Where would the building face ? Sun and prevailing winds will be a factor. This is even more the case if you plan on using your porch.

For the first time in 25 years water had come up and touched the floor joists due to the extremely wet spring. That wasn't good.
Good luck, post pics

Well that was close got a call from the in-laws after last weeks wind storm that came through.
A big willow blew down and luckily just the top of the branches landed on the cabin.
When I picked the spot I thought I had cleared a good size area and was safe.... another 20 feet west and the main trunk would have landed on top.

I guess I’m spending the weekend chopping fire wood.
