okay so I was thinking of splurging on a slew of firearms.
I am slowly getting into allot more hunting so why not have calibers on hand

need to cover the land critters so recommend quality makes and models only. quality over quantity.

small game (.22lr)
medium pest control like canadian jackals (.223 rem?)

deer
moose
elk

if it flys it dies

duck (either benelli m2 or beretta a400 xtreme max4)
grouse (the above, or browning citori, cynergy? just because I need a over under for upland game)

I prefer quality over quantity so if one caliber works for many great.

Deer- .223/.243 Sporter Weight Bolt Gun

Moose- .338 RUM Heavy-Sporter Weight Bolt Gun

Elk- 7mm Magnum/WSM Bolt Gun

Or just buy a 7mm Mag of any kind and be done :D

Ducks/Geese/Grouse/Anything that flies- Benelli Super Black II

30-06 for deer, moose, elk, black bear .Pick a good quality bullet /grain weight and the 30-06 will do everything you need it to do... shoot in your skill level and this is one caliber that will do everything on your hunting list ..A lot of people will say you need this caliber for this or another for that …

But a --- 30-06 and NoslerPartition bullets will do the job nicely ,,,,but that’s JM2CW

.

He said SLEW damnit. Dont talk the man outta buying guns!!!

One 30-06 for everything? What the hell is wrong with you, you sicko? :D

Maybe...

A lightweight .30-06 , 22" barrel, 2-7X33mm scope
A sporterweight .30-06, 24" Magnum/Fluted barrel, 3.5-10X40mm scope
A heavy, bull barrel, tactical stocked .300 WM, 26" barrel and 6.5-20X50mm

THATS how you brainwash minds man....

any particular makes that stand out more then others?
tikka, remington 700 etc. quality quality quality

that 7mm is huge, was looking at them today next to the 30-378 wby mag
the Bar Mark II safari comes in 7mm not sure how I feel about semi auto

lol yes slew was key.
I want a collection, I am sick I need my medicine.

I dont know your particular budget. But were it me and I had those cartridges on my mind I'd do the following.

.243 Remington 700 SPS Stainless
.338 RUM Remington XCR II Model 700
7mm Rem Mag Model 700 XCR II

On a budget, turn them all into Model 700 SPS (hold the stainless).

If you wanna break the bank and go balls out, switch them all to Coopers, Kimbers, or even Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS's

Talley lightweight rings, and Leupolds ALL 'ROUND.

the only thing I hate synthetic.
I cant see any real issues with firearms going in and out of cold for the wood to be effected.
maybe more personal.

is the rem 700's really great compared to tikka (t3 lss is awesome), savage etc?

I wish you never educated me on Coopers and Kimbers O MY GOD!

:D As for your question of Tikkas and Savages. I am going to get flamed soon, because I hate both of them. Look at the Remington 700 CDL SF if you like wood, or Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Stainless....tell me those guns arent "it".

Archie stop jerking it into a cup about a 338 rum rattling ur teeth. Sps junk no buy.get an axis . Jk . The new vangaudes r making a name. 243 and 7 REM mag will kill anything in this country. Buy two high end . Benilli black engle

Sorry but it seems to me that you are just about prestige. Why buy the supposedly the best, when you could get just as much if not more out of a less prestigious firearm?

A Savage, Mossberg, or Marlin have a lot to offer and not much if any less than a Tikka, Kimber, or 700 sps. The only person that needs to be content with the purchase is you, and a $1200.00 rifle will
not make you shoot any better than a $350 rifle.

Ohh, but wait I guess you would look cooler!

Hes buying a slew ...22lr 223 and a couple of shot guns ....anything with rum mag or short mag is a waist of money ,,,get a nice 06 put a ziess on it and learn to shoot ...end of lesson

just stiring the pot ...lol

you must live a bland and boring life.
I will let all the firearm companies know they should stop producing high end products.

I dont think these will make me shoot any better, but I believe quality will be higher.
let me be the fool to spend my money. ;) I live comfortable, and I dont think taking money to your grave will accomplish anything.

not hating on your opinion.

im secretly a doomsday prepper. :ar15:
**** the secrets out.

I thought he said quality?

Blaser R93 in 6.5x55 or 7x57 Win for deer
Steyr in 7x57 or 8x57 for moose
Sauer in 7x64 for Elk

Kimber 22 LR

Dakota Arms 22-250 for Canadian Jackals

Browning Citori O/U 12 for ducks and geese

Redhead 20 for Ruffed Grouse and Pheasant

And the list goes on and on and on...

This is gold.

I also am afraid that I will one day have a girlfriend and she will not be happy with me buying "prestigious" firearms.
I have no ill feelings dusty these other guys I cant say they feel the same?

anyhow good contributions people. some are slightly to prestigious for me like kimber and cooper as amazing as they are.

cleftwynd you think the citori over under is good for ducks? or semi better?
the citori I imagined for grouse/rabbit but the barrel length I think was a concern

Oh, and Dusty23 how is a Savage, Marlin or Mossberg better than a Kimber? This I just HAVE to hear....

Hold on tight, cuz its gonna be good :D

If you wanna kill waterfowl, you just GOTS ta' shoot a 3.5" self-loader :D

I actually use a very old German made 16 ga SxS for both ducks and geese, My post was mainly in jest...

I would rather have a Charles Daley over a Browning any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
