We all see pictures of harvested game and our firearms/bows, etc but I have yet to see any posts with pictures of your hunting camps. Whether portable or permanent does anybody have photos of their fall home away from home??
Brings back some memories....actually looks quite cosy.I do not have a permanent camp yet and I can remember being balled up in my sleeping bag wet from the knees down with a 1/2 a foot of new snow through the night. Damn near froze. That was many years ago and now with tent heaters, lots of tarps, new technology in sleep gear and all the other do dads that I have, it's kind of nice being "In Nature"
These are the Salmon River Hunting Camps where I've been going for the past 12 years. They're made up of 4 camps, appropriately named: Main camp, Sleep camp, little camp, far camp. The oldest one was built in 1947 and the others not too long after.
Main camp:
Sleep camp:
Beer fridge and hot shower... do we need anything else? Oh yes... Firepower...
Small Camp
Far camp:
The front yard:
A buddy hung over in the sleep camp... I got him to come out for the morning pass by telling him is was 11:30 AM. It was 7:00 AM and he had no watch. He only figured it out when we were heading back to camp for lunch...
Where we hang our deers:
Up to no good... again...
It's funny, after looking at all my camp pictures, I haven't taken pics of all the racks going all the way around the 4 walls in the main camp. All I got is a picture of the table with some racks in the background... those are all the small & ugly ones... I will get pics of the nicer walls...
