Well I am finally taking my hunting course after talking about it for over a year now. Any pointer or tips??

....even better who's willing to take me out for some upland in the fall??

Thx.
John

Best advice I can give is. Sit at the front of the class, watch and listen to what the instructor demonstrates, says and passing should be easy. Are you taking just the hunter education course? Do you already have your PAL?

Just took mine , John.
Read the manual , read the hunting regulations summary and listen to the instructor... you will have no probs ;)

Good luck, let us know how you did

I have had my FAC / PAL for about 12 yrs (target/sporting clay shooter for the last 4 yrs). Just thought about hunting in the last couple of years.

Don't think the course will be that difficult, but we are under the new 2006 hunting structure.

I am looking for 'in field' training.

Thx
John

Don't assume the test to be easy... read the book carefully.
Here is a very good tip... at the back of each chapter in the book there are review questions!!!!! These are the questions on the exam:eek: ;)

2 out of 10 from my hunting class failed, and 22 from sixty something of the turkey class failed...why?

They couldn't read/understand the English test:eek:  ...so they arranged someone to read the questions for them:rolleyes:

that would suck big time to fail because of someones elses fault

Hunting Course - done!

Well it's done. All in all it was pretty long and much of it an overview, but I did get a lot from it. I wrote the test and got one wrong - know the answer just F&^cked it up!

I was suprised how many people there was there that have not even handled a gun before:eek: Not that it is the end of the world but one would think that shooting would come before hunting?

Next is the Turkey course at the Sportman show in Toronto and I should be ready for opening day.

Thanks for all the information guys!

John
