My dogs are soft, they ride behind the seat in the truck , usually at least 3 dogs. I carry a kennel in the bed in case of a skunk incident.

I have done both. In the cab and in a kennel in the box of the truck with my dogs. My most recent set up has a canopy and a decked truck bed system, it’s a great set up for hunting but a bit of a pain for anything else. 99% of the time the dogs in the cab enjoying the AC or heat.

Not much of a setup, just a crate in the back of the truck under the truck's cap...

I don't like the mess the dog brings into the vehicle.
