I am new to hunting grouse. Anyone can suggest a good place for hunting grouse in Ontario? I live in Georgetown Ontario, and will be hunting alone.

Any help is appreciated!

Anywhere north of Orillia, all the way to Kenora. They're everywhere up there. Have a look at the Ontario crown land atlas and go for it. Closer to you I've also had good success in county forests in 82A, but found them to be a bit more skittish. Still not a hard hunt though.

The technique of walking down a trail and periodically stopping suddenly for a while is a deadly ruse to get them to flush. If there is one there, it will think you spotted it and it'll fly.

google "finding a grouse covey", that should bring you to a good article on getting in the right place. Clearing edges, trails, and decidous-coniferous transitions are all good spots. After you shoot one, look at the spot you got it in and that will start to tell a story about where to find the next one.
