I’m looking for feed back from members who have actually used one in extreme cold temperatures, up to -30C. I don’t care about reviews on the manufactures web sites, only interested in actual hunters from this site.
I’m looking at four criteria, warmth, wind proof capabilities, waterproof capabilities and ease of carrying (bulk). I primarily hunt in bush areas, both ground and tree stand applications during late November with snow on the ground.
I hunt primarily stationary situations, bad back and rebuilt knees, so stationary for long periods is the norm.
Thanks for any personal use input.
 
I have nothing to say about Heater Body suits other than that the price is outrageous. I personally use a plain sleeping bag with parka/puffy when hunting in -20C weather from a blind. Boots off and slide in the sleeping bag up to my man titties. Arms are out and in a waist style hand warmer.
 
I used one last season for the first time and while the price is very high I will say that they work as advertised. The coldest I used it was about-15 but I’d have no issue sitting in it at -30 if those were the conditions. I was warm enough at -15 that falling asleep after morning prime time was an issue. Follow the directions and you shouldn’t have a problem.
 
Bought an IWOM from the Canadian distributor in Alberta. Fast shipping, great product, no need to unzip to use your arms. Never been warmer and more comfortable. If you’re going to be sitting still, it is the best. Buy a size larger than your size for extra room. Expensive? Yes. But, for all the various ways I’ve tried to layer and stay warm, the IWOM is THE SOLUTION. Buy once, cry once.

I wear mid layers only to walk out and put the suit on in the stand.
 
Heater body suits are the ticket for cold weather stand hunting. I use mine in a ground blind for days each fall. They took up about the size of a sleeping bag and come with a carrying straps but I strap mine to my pack with all my other stuff. I usually were some bibs and a puffy in mine mostly. I have some over boots I put on over my winter boots as I find my feet get a bit cold touching the ground. If it get really cold therma care back wraps are awesome, keeps your low back and kidneys warm all day.

Honestly the heater body suit was a game changer for me and I don’t think I could go with out it.
 
The IWOM had issues with the earlier production suits being a little noisy, ie. when rubbed on the trunk of a tree. The newer version XT model is dead quiet and water resistant.
They are expensive when all costs are factored in, but well worth it.

I’ve owned a heater body suit for about 6 years and like it a lot. It helps me stay in my treestand much longer. Here’s some observations: it is not waterproof, it very wind resistant, it can be tricky getting into it while in a treestand - practice while sitting in a chair on the ground, you can’t hold a firearm when it’s zipped up to your chin - use a sling to hook it to the tree, it will keep you warm but you need to dress warm too. I carry mine in a compression sack which makes it less bulky. I store it on a hanger in a plastic garment bag. Dry clean only. Better to go larger than smaller.
 
I have two heater body suits, bought one for me and one for my son. I find it decently warm in extreme temps (down to -30'C) and quite toasty when between -10 to -20'C. It is NOT water proof, but it is reasonably wind resistant, fairly quiet and reasonable to pack in and out and get in and out of when in stand. Overall I say it is money well spent. My son on the other hand doesn't like his, maybe because he is a contrary teenager, who knows? He doesn't mind when I buy him a gun or a bow, or ammo! Now my second one is used for when I hunt with friends or if my wife wants to sit in a blind and photograph the animals.
 
NEVER HAD A HEATER BODY SUIT BUT USED THE HEATER COAT AND PANTS FROM WORKWEAR STORES ...THEY WORK GRAT AND I CAN STAY IN THE GROUND BLIND LONGER THAN WITHOUT.last year tried a heater budy bot it was not warm enough and friends suggested i get the workwear jacket and pants.im in a blind so camo didnt mater
