Im a city boy... so im not very familar with these things.
Hunting looks sooo fun and challenging. I wanna try it. Ilove going fishing, and this would be an awesome hobby i can take up.

How do i get started? Where are these "hunting spots"
I have my Restricted/non-restricted PAL. I know firearms pretty well. Im familar with handguns (altho that has nothign to do w\hunting) played around wiht a winchester 70 or was it90... but it was an AWESOME feeling lever action. and i handled and played with other rifles/shotguns.

im interested in teh following rabbit, duck, deer, and possibly moose if i ever get the chance  .

well for starters take the hunter safety course then get your hunting license and tags for your area buy the necesary gear for your trip ie: required amount of blaze orange and anything you might like to have on a hunting trip and get talking to some of the CGN's in your area as they might be able to help set you up with a first time hunt (which is the most important one) and listen to everyones storys as they all give advice of some sort

nice!!! That hunters safety course was on my list of things to do.
why is the first hunt so important?

that is when you learn the most. it is when you find out why hunting is such an important part of our lives. if you listen and pay attention to whoever takes you you could probely learn a lifetimes worth of bush knowladge from reading scrapes, tracks and scat to setting up proper fires and camps even what things you can or can't eat in a pinch pending on who takes you of course and most importantly you learn respect for the forest and the animals in it
my first hunting trip i went on i was 6 years old and i went with my ol man
didnt get anything but learned alot of neat stuff all of which i use today on every hunt i go on

Get your liscence and stuff, and join your local club/range.

Go to the meetings, and get involved. When you introduce yourself for the first time at the club, tell them that you are new to hunting and anyone interested in mentoring you would be welcoimed.

Where are you< there may be a CGN member nearby. :D

If it was a lever action than more than likely it was a Winchester model '94,IMO make a great deer/bush gun in 30-30 or .44mag as long as you limit your range and know its limitations
Like what the other CGN's have said,X2 :!:

Huntsman :)

And spend lots of time learning the hunting regulations.

You may need someone with a pick up truck and a place to hang a deer once it is shot. How big is your freezer? An average deer will have about 35-60 Lbs of meat.

Things will be much easier for you if you can find someone that will help you out with the details and show you the ropes. :D

you dont always needa pick-up last time i bagged a deer we used a civic to get it home and hung it from the tree in the back yard

as for room to put his game i am sure some of his "friends and family" would be glad to store it for him  and if they wont i have a huge deep freeze you can store meat in. right now i would be glad to store some moose  if anyone is in need of storage space hehehe

I think a good thing already mentioned, is find someone who is willing to take you along and show you the ropes..........and be ready for buck fever........it WILL happen, and don't be discouraged if you don't get anything or miss a shot, chalk it all up as learning experience. Best of luck!
