I am looking for information on hunting deer or elk in BC. I am moving to Vancouver Island this summer and don't want to miss out on using my new bow or rifles this season. Please keep in mind I will not be just strictly hunting on the island, whenever possible I hope to venture into the interior and Okanagan areas

We're not allowed to post sites that could be construed as competing with CGN.
That site doesnt hold water compared to CGN when it comes to wealth and knowledge.
You have to meet the residency requirements before being deemed a resident and allowed such a lic.

You have to be in B.C. for six months before you qualify to have a hunting licence for big game.
Elk hunting on the Island is a limited entry draw only hunt.
There are some open seasons on the mainland for six-point elk only in some places.
Join that other unmentionable BC site for your Vancouver Island deer questions. The black bear hunting there is fair as well.

Military on a posting? If that or RCMP, 30 days to meet residency for Hunting, a year for residency for Fishing (same as everyone else, for the fishing).
