Looking to take a trip to Montana from Regina SK this summer and wanna do some varmint hunting while im there. Prbly take my Tikka 22-250 and my .22 but just wondering how it will be crossing the border etc. just declare firearms are ammo i take it? But about bringing pelts back?

Ya i know the fur wouldnt be prime but if i end up getting a nice blonde yote or somthing i'll tan it for a wall hanger and a story. Mostly just going to camp and fish but if i come across some sign i'll try calling.

Thanks for info!

I crossed from SK to MT for a WY pronghorn hunt in 2015. Iirc the crossing was at Raymond. Got Form 6 approved in advance, for two rifles and ammo, but only brought one. Declared it at the border, and was through in 4 mins. Returned with a cooler full of pronghorn and my rifle and a little less ammo and it was equally painless.
