Deer are of minimal size not worth chasing, the only geese you will find are frozen and packaged at Safeway.Elk and moose are almost mystical as no one knows where they are.

My family comes from south of Spiritwood and you have to beat the deer off with a stick.Years ago I just bought a NR license and went hunting as long as I was north of a certain area.Don't know if they changed that or not.

I think you are mistaken.No deer like that ANYWHERE in Saskatchewan.

Oh how I remember the good old days. For the last 10 years the only thing I have seen was a three legged barren doe with chronic wasting disease standing in the middle of a posted field. There were 150 fellows waiting around the perimeter of that field the whole season but alas it died of winter kill.
To make matters worse all NR hunters have to enter a lottery just to have a position around that field where the deer once stood.

I hunted Saskatchewan since 1988 as a Canadian-Resident and only harvested one buck. It's not worth going there.........not very many deer, plus the average score is around 120 B&C. If you do go, the southern part of the province is your best bet. Good Luck!
Well since the other guys from Sask. spoke up and let the cat out of the bag i may as well say the hunting in my ares sucks as well. One barren doe runing around, crappy weather and poor water. {must drink whiskey at alltimes}Altho i was just in toontown yesterday and saw a few cougars in one mall.
