I've hunted in SK for 50 years, more if I count when my Dad would take me chicken hunting as a kid. (I was the retriever dog!).
I live 80 miles (yes, MILES) east of Regina, and we have whitetail galore most of the time, Prairie Chicken, Ruffed Grouse, Huns, ducks, geese, even moose seasons. Sometimes the gophers are great. Within a day's drive from here, there is almost all kinds of common game and predators. Some landowners are a bit touchy because of slob hunters and poachers, more so in recent years, mostly since 4wd trucks have become more common.
Before I get pounded over that last statement, let me explain. Back in the day, when most of us had 2wd vehicles, we stayed off the little trails when it was wet, and didn't drive across wet fields. Now, some of the trails are so rutted up from morons showing how smart they are, that they are nearly impassible.
For the most part, I think that SK is fairly hunter friendly, though.
