Hunting in the rain

If I stayed home every time it rained, I'd hardly get out hunting! :)

Really heavy downpours I'll seek shelter though. Animals tend to hide out the storms too. RIght after a storm is great hunting, especially for bears.

I have seen alot of deer shot while it's raining. The only time i think they really stay out of the rain is if it is a big storm where it just pours, but steady or light rain doesn't really seem to bother them much at all

Heavy rain or High winds generally have game hiding to a large extent.
However, light rain is usually good hunting.
In some areas, if you don't hunt in a certain amount of wind, you will
not be hunting at all, lol.

in bc not hunting in the rain or wind would be great for conservation. you could go out for one to two days of the year. we go rain or shine as time permits. my buddy got a nice whitetail yeasterday in spite of the rain and wind.

Bagged my first deer in a downpour. I never stay in when the weather is ####ty. If I stayed in when the weather was bad I would only get out a couple times during open season. Only means my rifle gets a good cleaning and oil job after all the fun.

I love getting into the timber in the rain. Layered wool to keep me warm, a good brim to keep the water off my glasses, and iron sights. Almost never see another hunter.
