Hunting in the rain.

I've always wanted to hunt with a BBQ gun but adding in the weight of the grill and propane I just can't justify dragging it off the deck.

Follow the sequence.......

1. Use the rifle.
2. Then the BBQ.

In B.C. most deer, both mule and whitetail, in the mountainous regions migrate from summer to winter ranges. It is storms in the late fall which get these animals moving. If I had my druthers I would hunt a dreary day rather than a bright sunny day.
 
That attachment on the bottom would make it real handy to wheel around... never mind the stabalizing aspects.

Seriously, do you light your BBQ with that thing Super?

What a great idea!! I could pop off a primer to light the Q.

Neighbors would love that, specially if I got the ammo mixed up and sent a 180 gr SP though the Q. :D

A WSM would make a more efficient starter than the antiquated .308, not to mention the added COOL FACTOR!! :D

BR, I agree with all but the high wind comment, I got my first cow elk in a very nasty windstorm. I think they generally head for the thicker bush and hide out the wind so it can be tricky that way. We sure had a time dragging her out!;)

again here not much of a choice on the wet coast ..all i do is get in my big poncho and away i go looks like a tent almost ........dose that bbq have standerd ties or all terain :D:D

I think Savage has a predator package like that - but I am pretty sure it is a .243 Win / Habachi combo. No propane = lighter. Great for sheep hunts.

we have an 11 and a half week rifle season for deer. if its raining, Im going to be right where I am right now :)

this is exactly what I believe Craig Boddington was reffering to as well.

At this point in his career, some of the things have changed:
1. he doesn/t "need " the meat.
2. He can travel to almost any part of the world to hunt that same species he's set for at one point....
3. He can hunt other species instead and relate the story to past events.
4. Wouldn't any of us do the same if not pushed by the sittuations we're in?

We have a 2 days ---- plase read again - 2 days of MZ/SG for deer.
Raining or not...... you figure.

Northern residents have been blessed with a few months. No need to "rough it" for them.
 
I've enjoyed success in the rain for big game, whitetails to be exact. Small game, other than ducks, is IMHO a waste of time...

Last time I checked they were water proof

Rain or shine I'm there. With a six day controlled hunt I book the week off and hunt for the whole week.

Yes they move in the rain, and when they don't the rain makes great cover for sneakin and peakin, get them in their bed

I think that a lot of factors will affect hunting in rain. My experience shows that the rain itself, temperature, timing..etc all count.
