Hunting - Issues with the wife!!

Well my girlfriend goes hunting with me for deer and she is basically making me go bow hunting for bear...man I love that girl.
 
My wife gives me h**l every year about my moose hunting trip. I haven't missed one though. But when I get home earlier than we expect to she gives me h**l again for ruining her quiet time. So it doesn't really matter what I do I still get in trouble for it. They will eventually get over it anyways.
 
I find trouble with hunting more of a symptom than an actual problem, rarely is a guy so wipped that he can't continue/pick-up a hobby. 8 times out of 10 when I witnest trouble the root cause is time or money.

And hunting is cheap on neither of them. As much as men like ###, women like security and 500-$1000 bucks for a moose trip if money is tight will cause problems. A week away when when you have got little kids will cause problems. My boys are now old enough that 1 or all three can tag along but even if they are not along they are not as intensive. I did not hunt much the year we had 3 under 3. Mind you I was able to convince her to by a house where I could be fishing in 10 min I made alot of 1-2 hour trips the next few years. Now I don't hunt as much as I did when I was single, that whole being a man and having resposibilities does get in the way.

The old saying still stands "If Moma got a problem then everyone has a problem". Manage that and you'll manage to go hunting and have ### after you get back.

Exactly, when I met Dumbdawg for the first time, and he told me he was into hunting, I thought, how cool is that! Almost 7 years later ... it is still very cool and not only that I now have my PAL , my small games and my Turkey license. Can hardly wait to retire , find a home in a great hunting area , where you can open your back door and go BANG! for dinner! LOL
 
I think Mommabear and my wife would get along just fine, same attitudes. I was married before I got into hunting, my wife encourages me to do what makes me happy. She decided she would like to go shooting and loved that too. Last christmas she told me to buy the rifle I liked, it would be my present. She started her CORE this week so she can start owning her own firearms and start hunting. Her dream is to shoot a monster elk. I bought her a 30-06 left handed bolt Savage that I will suprise her with when she passes the course. Some of you guys need to choose a life partner a little more carefully;)
However, every time I come back from a trip the inside of the house does not look the same as when I left, furniture rearranged, new paint in rooms, etc.....all the stuff she says she does not want to do with me. I GET TO GO HUNTING INSTEAD OF HOUSEWORK AND RENOVATIONS:D

i wont say im theboss here..but i can say if my guns or hunting were a problem here..i would get rid of the problem:cool: ..her
but i dont have to worry of that...even though my sweety wont shoot or hunt..she loves the meat on me and in the freezer...:)
but maybe...just a maybe...i told her i bought a pop gun (22 cooey) to teach my grandson to shoot..........she was asking of bang and kick on it..i m damm sure she will
try it out...it,s a start:)

You are a sweet man DW, just like my Dumbdawg! Your wife will do fine and I'm sure will be happy with your heartfelt gift.

Killing myself laughing here, cause you are right! When Dumbdawg is away I will paint, or do crazy things to the house. it's all good though!

Actually Easter weekend the guys are going to the camp... I have a plan...lol :D

And the cool thing about all this, is, once I get the house the way I / we like it... I'll be ready to join the hunting fun. Mind you... in the mean time I still have my model 94 30/30 Carbine to test .

Great, now you are comparing me to dumbdawg.:rolleyes: What did I ever do to you? Is this the same dumbdawg you were gonna mail to me cause he lounges on the couch in his underwear all day when he is not at work? Come to think of it, I am like him:p
