Hunting Moose in New Brunswick

You can apply for a non resident moose tag and are allowed 2 hunters per liscence here in N-B, so if you have a group of lets say 6 guys you each apply for a tag chances are one of you might get one .

All I read on this site is how hard it is for residents to get a moose tag in New Brunswick, and you're saying a non-resident can draw one first time? Even if the OP draws one, only one other member of his group can hunt, the rest stay home.

Both times I hunted in NFLD, the ferry docks were full of NB license plates. They were all going to NFLD to hunt, because they couldn't get tags at home.

Doesn't make sense to even bother, when groups are guaranteed tags in most areas in Ontario, and nobody has to stay home.

From what I understand there seems to be a fair amount of non residents hunting moose so someone is getting licenses.

Can a non-res buy a tag from outfitter? Or have to draw one?

$612 is a lot for a non-res license, one of the highest in canada I think. When do you find out draw results?

You have to draw one.

If their posted numbers are correct in 2011 they issued 4364 tags of which 2477 were filled and 100 of those tags were issued to non resident.
We put in every year since it started but have never been drawn.
Also most guides since it is just a 3 day hunt and you are their only moose that week request a portion of the moose meat or at least the ones we spoke to.Plus approximately another 1500 for services, lodging etc.

Where are all the nutters from Newfoundland? Can anyone from Newfoundland list the outfitters in their area and prices? I would give my left .ut to be able to go home for a moose hunt, With out paying $5000. Thanks' By's
