I was out hunting for a buck this morning with a buddy just north of Kamloops. Went up a bunch of forestry roads and saw nothing but a nice moose. I'm wondering if we were too high up, or where all the deer are at. I'm not asking for anyone's secrets here, but some tips would be nice. Are they down lower this time of year or up higher? On our way home we saw some... but they were on someone's property right next to the main road, and no buck.

As you may tell... I am fairly new to hunting but appreciate the advice. Although no deer, we had a good time as it was a perfect day otherwise.

Cheers.

I was out near Merritt a couple weeks ago. Consensus was it wasn't cold enough yet, the deer could still find enough to forage way up on the hilltops. We didn't see much and had no shot opportunities.

South of Kamloops on the old Merritt highway at the bottom of Kardu Hill where the Campbell Creek road comes out is
a nice grassy field with a white house on it.
His backyard was full the other day of mulies.
See them up the Barnhartvale road past the store on the valley floor on private land.
Demdere fur izz gitt'n smart.

Up high in China Valley towards Dry Lake as well. until cold weather and snow pushes them down to their winter range.
