I am currently looking at getting a new left hand bolt or left hand semi auto hunting rifle. I am thinking 30-06, 7mm or 300WSM.

What Rifle would you recommend?

Thanks Shane

Out of those choices, I would take the Sako 75 if you can find one. If not, then the Rem 700 XCR...

x2 for gun runners choices. However, for the poll, the a-bolt with a trigger spring upgrade from brownells is a fine choice. Easy to do in minutes and makes the lawyer trigger sing. Also, upgrade with a boyds stock for any and you have a fine piece for less bucks than some other choices. Cheers.

keep in mind that the T3 lite will have a good kick to it in the cartridges that you are interested in. Not always a big deal but it's always something that you should put into the equation.

I just picked up a Tikka T3 Battue lite in .30-06 I changed out the factory mag to a 5 shot and mounted a scope. I was always liked remington, but I got to say the tikka is a nice little rifle.

My friends father has a t3 battue with the irons. It is such a beautiful rifle, buttery smooth action and great feel overall. If i had the dough i would get one.

The Sako 75 has been out of production for some time, but if you can find a used one, that would be good. And having just spoken to Browning yesterday, they are releasing the LEFT hand X bolt in the Micro, Hunter and Medallion. It won't be long before they hit the shelves. Tikka is Ok too as they do produce a lot of calibers in leftie. The BAR semi is a nice option too.

I really like the Tikka. I would really like to handle a left handed X-bolt. Didn't care for the savage and didn't handle the Remington. I am not a fan of the A-bolt because my buddy has one and hasn't had any luck with it. Constantly has shells sticking in chamber and it is clean.

One thing as well is I want sythetic for the fact of it not showing dings and scratches like the wood.

I was dead set on a BAR 30-06 but after handling them I found that they felt really cheap. Plastic drop plate and plastic latch. The aluminum receiver felt really cheap as well and they don't come in a left handed sythetic. I am sure they are really good just having a hard time convincing myself to go with it.

Removeable clip is also a big selling feature for me.

Thanks for all the reply's . Keep them coming....

How much do you want to spend? Sako 75 is great but spendy, T3 is damn near the same but cheaper. T3 in 30-06 would be pretty nice and easy to carry. Contrary to what some say, a 7lb 30-06 won't beat you like 8 year old clubbing a pinata on cinquo de mayo.

I put X bolt, I don't own one but they're darn nice rifles. Really, it comes down to what characteristics and features you want. The only two I'd avoid are the Bar and the Sako. Semis are a PITA to clean, and I prefer the Tikka to the Sako.(and for half the $$).
