I've got a savage axis in 30-06 and I'm looking for new glass...I'm having a tough time deciding because holy hell there are a ton of makes/models out there. I've got it narrowed down to the following 3, and am looking for opinions, experiences, rumors...

Bushnell Elite 3200 or 4200
Leupold VX-2
Minox ZA

Thanks.

Ive had most of thoes at one time or another. I would say 3200 is the bottom of the choices, but I used a 3200 for a few years on a 300 wsm and it never failed me. I really liked the glass on the 4200 and Minox. I dont recall ever looking through the new vx2 but i did own an older VXII and thought that glass was really nice as well. I think thoes are all good choices, go with whichever one you can get the best price on.

i have all of the above and prefer the minox. i have two 3x9 and a 1.5x8. with the 4 inches of eye relief that would be my pick. also come with #4 german retical my favorite.
the 3200 or 4200 are fine as is the vx3.

Thanks! I'm actually also considering a Redfield...I guess I'm going to have to spend more time looking through them at the store.

I have used several 3200's and while they work well, i find the eye relief a tad short for me. Most don't seem to have a problem with them, but i find the redfield scopes have just enough more eye relief that they work better for me. Something to keep in mind while you are looking.
The only leupold vxII i have used i didn't notice any problems with eye relief, but it was only once that i used it, and not for really enough time to really get a sense of it, but i had no immediate dislikes.

Don't discount Weaver scopes from consideration. I really like the Classic V 2-10x40 I have on my Stevens 200. The glass is clear, it tracks well and holds zero.

I ended up buying the Bushnell Elite 3x9x40mm ... I guess they don't make the 3200 or 4200 anymore, and kind of combined both into the "elite". So far it's as good as any of the others I've looked at. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get it mounted and to the range soon! Thanks again for the help!

If you were to shoot this gal, your opinion would change.
She is great with 180's, 200's and 250's.
The only thing that changes is elevation.
Truly remarkable little tramp she is.
I've got nuthin' agin 358s. I've had several over the years and have one now in the works. I just wondered about the hubble'esk scope on that tidy little carbine.

You're kinda weird anyways in a harmless kind of way, so I shouldn't be surprised. :)
