Would appreciate some feedback or things to consider
Im looking to buy a scope for a new addition to my collection. A 270 cal to be used for deer and moose
Scopes Im considering are:

Sightron SII Big Sky 4-16x42 HHR
Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x 42mm - DOA 600
Conquest 4.5-14x44mm - Black - Z-800
Burris 3-12x50mm Black Diamond
Leupold VX-3L 4.5-14x50 mm B&C

Im leaning between the Sightron and Conquest, but all really like the magnification range in the Bushnell - although I believe they are a lot more fussy about eye relief at full magnification.
Any feedback is apprecaited

If I were to spend that sort of co$n, the one in the middle of your list would be the one.
Bushnell makes a decent product, but there is better out there in that price range.
Leupold with their Korth issues turns me off.
Sightron I know little about other than the little scope for my rimfire.
Burris I would put in the Bushnell line up too.

Glass wise your best best is the Zeiss, however you should go to their website to see if the calculator for the 800 reticle is compatible with the load you want to use.Zeiss have constant eye relief. If that reticle doesn't work you have the 600 and varmint also available.

The SII is good I own them but don't have the clarity I would like, the 6500 is just about equal to the Conquest for clarity but only your eyes will know and I find Bushnells reticles bulky.Haven't looked through a Burris for a while and am not a fan of Leupolds changing eye relief for a hunting scope.

I would avoid the Sightron just because of the AO. I have the 6-24 Big Sky on my 6mmbr, and I will never have another AO scope after getting used to the side focus models. I would look at the Conquest HD5 3-15, but my personal favorite hunting scope is the Swarovski Z5 3.5-18-44.

I'd go Zeiss. I've got the same scope as Scott and it is an awesome piece of kit for the price.

Just say no to Leupold due to the issues with the distributor.

Thanks for the feedback guys
Is there anyone on here who carries the Conquest HD5 scopes - they sound interesting

I haven't seen one in Canada yet, but they should be on the shelves soon. I would contact Clay at Prophet River, to see when they are going to be arriving.

Of the scopes discussed I would lean toward the Conquest.

Clay at Prophet River is definitely good to deal with, he brought in a rifle for me, good organization.

Omer at Plainsight Solutions is also a good guy to deal with - straight talk, great prices.
