Hey everyone, im a newbee and i need the advise from some of the seniors. I have been doing alot of research on the net and hunting is allowed on sundays in some of ontario. The map shows me stouffville but gives a broad area with no streets to use as boundries. Also iim not sure what i can hunt as the regulations are very confusing. Would like to hunt for meat, not just to shoot, but would also like to target practice on some land. Any help would be appreciated. For info i have a Remington 700 300rum rifle and a 870shot gun (im gueesing some areas allow shotgun only. I WILL EVEN COMPANSATE WITH MONEY IF ANY OF YOU FELLOW MEMBERS CAN OFFER ME LAND TO PRACTICE. Thank u all and i know this might be annoying for some of you to read but i need guidance.

You best join a shooting club.
There's a .pdf map on the MNR's site showing what municipalities allow Sunday hunting. Then you need to know what roads that make the boundaries. Go here then into the 'Go to Section' to get a map of Whitchurch-Stouffville. Look at the 2006 Ward boundary map. It covers just Whitchurch-Stouffville. Gives you the municipality boundaries. Davis Drive on the North, York-Durham Line on the East, the 404 on the West and 19th Ave on the South.
Read the .pdf of the local firearms discharge by-law too. No rifles of a calibre greater than .270 allowed for hunting. The Ontario hunting regs will tell you if it's shotguns only, when and for what game.

Calibre restriction for small game only. You can still shoot your RUM for targets. The MNR site lists Municipalities/Townships that allow Sunday hunting. Find out if your town/township is on the list and know where you are hunting.
Dont be surprised if no one offers their land. I'd be reluctant to let a newbie with a 300 RUM stomp around my land. Too much gun + too little land = too much liability.
Years ago I moved to the country from the big smoke. I used to go out and plink away, thinking I was actually learning something and getting hands on experience. I met a local who invited me to the nearby range - after a few sessions, and help from some of the members, I quickly realized that this was the only way to go.
I encourage all new shooters to do the same - especially if you live near a large urban area.
