As the title says I need a new hunting spot this year
The land I was useing for the past 4 years was sold and is now being built on
As I found out this afternoon and to say the least I'm kinda pissed about loading the spot but the original owner allowed me to use the land for free and I was the only hunter so I can't be to mad
The spot was great I hunted everything from partridge to deer and everything inbetween
And it's a little late to start finding a new spot for this season so my question to all of you fellow GUNNUTZ is do you guys have a spot you are willing to rent or know of someone
I would appreciate it very much as I already cled most outfitters and they are booked up till Christmas for small game and birds thank you in advance

Have you tried any ZEC's?

I wish I could help you out, but you already know how it is for most of us: find a piece of land and hang on with both hands.

Excuse me for bringing this back from the dead but who has hunted in ZEC's before? Mainly zone 10 west.
Is it crown land that you simply pay a daily or yearly fee for hunting and fishing?
My friend and I are in the same boat as WestIslandRifle

ZEC stands for Zone d'Exploitation Controlé, Controlled Exploitation Zone, translated. It's a managed park that you need to pay to have access to, and the fees vary based on what activities you want to do - hunting, fishing, camping, or just nature observance. The bag limits and reporting are much tighter than in public areas. For example, fish species and bag limits may be set by specific body of water and all game taken is reported.

I have never taken advantage of one, but may in the near future as small game opportunities are near zero for me.

even in zec it's really hard to find an empty spot. THey have waiting list, and for the one I am looking the last time they picked some one from that list is a few year ago.

I know how you feel, I will probably be loosing my small hunting spot in about two years when the land owner plans on selling, and unfortunately crown land is too far away and most all private land owners want cash in return to hunt their land, gone are the days of making the land owner happy by sharing meat with him.

Alright, anybody who interest. Please let me know, I probably can help a few CGN for hunting ground. A boyfriend of my employee owe many lands at St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, he never mind people on his land, just for hunting season. For me, I'm not interest in this offer since I have zero free time and I'm not hunter either. He is a farmer though.
