Hunting the thick woods.

4 days solo last week with no luck and I'm back again with no luck today as well. Tomorrow is my last day and chance for my buck this year. If I don't get him tomorrow.... Hats off this year to the pray. He wins.

Like hell I'm giving up with out a fight tho.



Anyway,,,, I've seen does and his tracks. I'm pretty sure I've even hird him. Stalking and still hunting... This bush is just real thick. Using the wind and still some how getting evaded.

Anyone got any tips for the thick ? I'm using doe lure and a blat. I'm not a new hunter and have hunted thick in the past. Just no luck so far. But still a great time.

Be vewy vewy quiet. Seriously, and move slowly. Watch the wind direction.

Do a lot more standing and looking than walking.

Go pee where he pees , make a mess in the dirt, pee some more , sit back and wait!!!

If you they can see you move you are going to fast. Take a step, look around, figure out the quietest place to take your next step then wait before you take it. Repeat. It can drive you crazy because it is so slow, but you usually see lots of things you wouldn't normally see. ie tracks, hair on branches and trunks of trees. if you are real lucky your buck laying down and relaxing. Also check out any horizontal lines you see, most things in thick brush is more vertical than horizontal.
