Hunting to feed RAW?

Well I guess you learn something new everyday, I had not heard of this ever. Sounds like a good way to go the more I think about it...may have to give it a go....lord knows the Beagle who runs my house would be up for it.

He'll eat damn near anything and has....there was an incident with a pound of lard and a table full of unattended freshly BBQ'd porkchops that saw him very quickly walking around looking for a spot in the backyard....
 
im gonna remember this the next visit to the local butcher.

Is there anything I should avoid?

1 dog pure choc lab, 12 weeks old (eats like a horse)
1 dog half lab/half rodesian ridgeback 4 year old.

not really, as long as the meat isnt spoiled. Dogs can eat bones very easily (as long as they arent cooked) and they can eat any meat.
 
So if i mixed threw them some hamburger in their kibble they wont sh!t and barf all over the house? :D

I still have turkey in the freezer from Christmas, the wife isnt too thrilled about eating it, its not rotten or anything, i was thinking the Muts would love it?
 
From the books I have read and people I have talked to, the Inuit and trappers used to feed their dogs fish. In the spring time go out to the ditches and creeks off of the big lakes and fill up the back of your pick me up truck with a net or bow for suckers or carp.

A few years ago I was at Westbourne on the Whitemud River south of lake Manitoba and a guy who ran a team of dogs was there fishing with a pitch fork doing just that.

Ya it should be fine, probably better to start wth smaller amounts just so it doesnt shock their system. If the turkey is cooked make sure there are no bones in it when you give it to the dogs.
