hunting vehicle

lol I got it cheap. And it's easier to load a critter in than my truck

lmao

I paid a grand for mine about 6 years ago.
It has been to hell and back (chains on just to stay on the road)

Sadly it is still in Alberta (plated and insured for when I return)

this was 10 days before the last photo i posted

I honestly can't see that 6x6 being good for much here in BC.

I used to use quad and then feet but recently bought a can am defender which will be much better!

2011 Ram 1500 with 35" Nitto's and a 2016 Artic Cat 700 diesel atv. First one goes through gas like a fire hose. Second one is the direct opposite.

Cheers

Do any of you newer Tacoma owners have a burning clutch odour when using reverse, particularly in 4x4?

I do in my 2015.

The dealer I got it from and service department at the dealership I go to for service claim they have never heard of such a thing. It's a four cylinder/five speed.

Put the t/c in low when you back up in ruff chit.
My old F-150 with the five speed tranny had a real high gear reverse.
Tug that lever to two or four low so the clutch gits let out and no slipping it.

I've been really impressed with my wife's Tracker in the snow last week,it only has all season tires on it,but nothing stopped it...Got another one with the body dinged up, the front doors are not in good shape but it might be well worth stripping down and turning into an off-road vehicle

I have a Polaris ATV, but around the farm I have been using a $300 Suzuki Sidekick (2 door). Took out the back seat and it is a little pickup. Carry a lot of firewood in it.

For hunting it has a heater, excellent low range 4x4 and a tight turn radius. For the road I have a 4 door Tracker. Also a $300 spl and it runs well.

2011 4x4 extended cab Sierra 1500. Good for bumming around trails and unmaintained back roads to the hunting spots. Not so good at mud holes. Ball joints are shot so it's getting a smallish lift next weekend.

2006 Nissan Xterra - toughest, best built vehicle I have owned. With a set of good tires it will take you anywhere you want to take your vehicle short of serious offroading. My has been very reliable as well (owned it for 4 years now, 200 000 km plus) Only downside is carrying downed game/muddy gear. You can find trailer hitch platforms, specialized roof racks, etc. - but it's not as simple as just putting it in the bed of the truck. When this Xterra dies, my next vehicle will be another Xterra (OffRoad edition for the locking differential) or a Tacoma/Frontier.
