Hunting Vehicles, Geo Tracker?

^ everything seems to be a crap shoot .. honestly with my family the only cars that haven't given us troubles have been Toyota's. I worry about dumping money into a lemon, the used car market around here is a real racket.
I know what you mean. I got a toyota tacoma thats my main truck, my wife's car is a honda and of coarse I have the zuke. When I traded my dodge truck straight across for the tacoma I couldn't get out of the car lot quick enough and I never looked back lol.

I get a real kick out of my Tracker. Just the right size with hardly enough room for a nephew.

So I've had a look at some Trackers / Suzuki's, Liberty and Rav4's. Seems trade in deals are pathetically low. Took a great test drive today on a later model4 door tracker, and it's nice, but that back seat is small, only really good for seats down for more cargo load.

I've put my truck on craigslist (trades considered) to fund my downsize .. so time will tell. I'll end up posting an update to the thread when I finally land on something.

My wife has a lifted 02 Liberty. We've owned it for a dozen years or so and has been a good car for us. It doesn't get driven much anymore now that she has commendered my lowered Fusion.

Try and find a low K's one then do the rig up.
See how long it takes to get over $8,000.00 into it.
That's what I have into mine.
Rack, custom bumpers, winch, posi's, Calmini lift, air bags in rear springs,
nerf bars, stereo, header and performance exhaust, wheels, tires (worn now).
This list is continuous.

looky, post some pics, will ya, would love to see it! Jr #1 has a Sidekick, I got a Geo.

I had an 02 sport trac with a 6" lift on 33" tires and a 9500lb winch, did very well offroad and for BC hunting. the rear trac lock sucks, If I had kept it I would have put front and rear lockers in it.

I then went to a samurai on 35"s lockers etc. It would go anywhere a quad would go but interior space was cramped.

Now I have a 4 door sidekick with basically everything fixed that I did not like about the two prior vehicles.

I also have a fully loaded 2002 xl7 I may be persuaded into selling, with a small lift it would do very well, already has a winch, leveling kit and rock sliders.

wow, 2 good lookers here! I'd love to lift mine like that, but my dogs wouldn't be able to jump in on their own! Maybe I could figure out a step thing for them.

Going to paint up the bumpers and stuff to tidy her up then Zewk will be up for sale.

will u deliver it to SE MB?
Be sure to fix any hairline cracks in the bumpers before painting, oh yeah, and that dent on the side! Is that your bubble gum stuck on the frt fender?;) 5 spd, or A.T.? Right side mirror busted off? What brand name frt bumper? How much lift? 9.9 Johnson?
Awesome water way in the background!

No what you do right now it get one of those dodge/ford oilfield 5 ton deck trucks that are a dime a dozen in the west, they have a picker for lifting animals, side cabinets for storage, and can be found in crew cab configurations for larger groups, your costs may vary.

What about the Japanese mini-trucks? They make lifts, fit quad tires, and are road legal with a flatdeck/box combo with fold down sides, some come in 4 door, have a heater and some have lockers allegedly

That dint is wartch'n fur and I run over a lawg. Thud.........shure woke me up.
Mirror is over awn t'uther side...........shy, me thinks.
Cracked too and there's a new one in a bawx owt in the shop. These are the after market folding
style. Hinged to move back and forth.
Five speed and bumpers are custom locally.
Three inch Calmini lift, power steering, header and 2" exhaust. Blewtewf stereaireo and four updated speakers.
Mini spewl in the rear end. Lewky-built runners that I use to jack the unit up awff the ground.
Also a rear hitch I built that fits tight under the rear bumper. Air bags in the rear suspension springs.
Steering shock with after market X member.
Tuns oh chit I've done to it. Just over 140,000 on the oddawmeter.
Front hitch built by me as well.
Push bar fabrique aux lewkie.
Yaaaah, gum ............ muddy fruit.

This is actually pretty good advice. A lot of companies babied these machines and can be had at a Ritchie brothers auction for dirt cheap right now.

I had to sit in the back of a sidekick once.
Total joke they call that a back seat!
It was a two door. I was sitting sideways in the back, couldn't even put my feet on the floor.
I was so cramped up by the end of that 20 minute ride I could barely walk.
The guys in front seemed fine though, except the passenger complained he could see the ground going by under his feet.
The driver had some trick he had to do to get it in gear too.
No, I don't think I will ever own one.

I would never own a tracker or a samurai as my main vehicle, for a secondary vehicle they're great, for two people though. The back seat sucks. I have trailered mine behind a camper on my annual BC interior hunt. I cant think of a better vehicle you could do that with.

thanks, not many understand the potential these vehicles have with modifications. It's better than an atv and it has a heater and is not restricted during hunting like atv's are in certain areas of BC

I agree, and its also nice to have a second vehicle when your 100k off of a main road just in case one breaks down.
