Hi all!

I'm going to be going to Fiji this November - but before you hate me, it's visiting my in laws farm in the middle of nowhere. No beaches. Just farmland and some small forests for miles.

So. There's a problem with wild pigs and I'm wanting to hunt them. I am deliberating on a few options:

1.) Ask my father in law to get a gun/crossbow so I can shoot them. (The easy one, I have asked but he's hemming and hawing)

2.) Bring my own gun.

This would be more complex, as I'd have to get the Fiji police commissioner's certificate to allow importation into the country. The gun would also go through the LA airport or Hawaii, and that would be a lot of paperwork and possible issues. The US border patrol can lock me up for months if they decide I'm a problem - I don't want to be one.

3.) Buy a cross bow and bring it. Same issue as #2.

4.) buy a spear and import it. But where to buy a legitimate hunting spear with a cross-guard?

Thoughts?

Make on site. ;) A little steel, a grinder, a stout shaft, some work and you're in Bus.

This is old news but when we were in NZ in 1979 they used spears to hunt pigs. Perhaps you could set up a deal through that country. We spent two weeks in Figi and were blown away by the beaches etc. Maybe take a holiday on one of the many out islands, housekeeping units and miles of beach and coral.
