Hunting with a Grizzly Mag-Fed

I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, as I'm new to shotguns and hunting in general, but I am currently on the fence about purchasing a 12.5 inch Grizzly mag-fed, and although I intend for it more to be a Range toy than anything else, I got to thinking;

If I wanted to throw a longer 870 barrel on there and hunt with it, is there an easy way to limit magazine capacity?

I'm not sure of the exact laws that are in place in other provinces, but as I understand it, in Newfoundland there is basically no legal reason to have a shotgun in the woods unless it is capped to hold no more than 2 rounds in the magazine. How would this work with a mag-fed shotgun? Would simply loading one shell at a time and NOT bringing any mags be acceptable? How about carrying a magazine that's been pinned to only hold 2 shells?

Has anyone tried this?

I'm okay with just being able to use it at the range, but if that is the case, I may just throw a pistol grip on an 8.5 inch and register it as restricted.

I used my mag fed Griz to hunt with when I owned it. I took a section of scrap hard wood flooring, trimmed it down until it fit inside the mag spring. Then I just inserted two shells, measured the wood, and cut it to fit inside the mag with the 2 shells and put the floor plate back on.

1 in the chamber and 2 in the mag = legal in Ontario. No ugly pin, and after hunting season, just take the floor plate off, and take the bit of wood out and store it until next year.

I probably still have it sitting around here somewhere, haha.
