Hunting with a Semi- auto Non restricted?

You can hunt with a semi-auto 50 BMG (Serbu BFG-50A) if you have the muscle to carry it into the bush and money to spend on the rifle and ammo and its still perfectly legal.

You can here in Alberta.
but the size of projectile is regulated to not under a certain diameter.
They also had a cartridge length requirement but I am pretty sure that got dropped.

You may only have a 5 round mag in a semi here for hunting as well I am near 100% sure of.

Other than that ...fill your boots

Cool thanks. I kind of want a non restricted black AR style rifle but I can only justify purchasing one if I can take it out for hunting/ bush protection

If it is non-restricted and meets min calibre/energy requirements for the game you are hunting, it should be legal. In BC, semi-autos are legal - Browning BAR, Benelli R1, etc.

Anyone have any advice on an accurate non-restricted black hunting AR platform in the 800$ range new hopefully, maybe used even.

For $800 and NR your going to be looking at a Norinco M14 and not AR
Nothing wrong with with a M14 there fun to shoot not bad to pack with a good sling

That depends on where you are. Alberta yes and PQ i believe. But the other provinces its a paper punch.

You've been working the boards pretty hard over the last couple of weeks. Its obvious you are new to forearms and hunting. Rather than posting incessantly, you would be better off getting a buddy or mentor that can show you the ropes. Learning via the internet is a poor substitute for hands on experience with someone knowledgeable.
