Hunting with an E- Bike !

That's a very nice bike . The best I've seen so far ..
I'm learning these as we go and now am leaning to the 26 in tires and a step thru
Hunter 7 , can you start out on throttle only ? and distance

Yes you can start out on throttle only. I have never tried it on throttle only to see how far it would go. I usually run it in pedal assist number 3 and get around 60 kms per charge, this is on fairly flat ground though with few hills. Awesome bikes for the money.

E-Bikes have a lot of advantages over regular bikes. The biggest one being the effort required. Sure, I COULD pedal a regular bike up to the top of a cut, but that's going to be exhausting, I'm going to get all sweaty and tired. Now I'm at my spot, but I'm soaking wet, huffing and puffing. It's not just about being lazy, it's about moving quietly, not working up a sweat, being able to travel further and faster. It'll go places a truck can't, while going much quieter than an atv or dirt bike, and much faster than walking or a conventional bike, especially if it's uphill.

Yes it has motor vehicle restrictions. Think of it more like an alternative to an ATV or Dirt Bike than a normal bike. Shorter range, but much quieter. Considering how little of BC is covered by these restrictions that's a non-issue for many, especially guys who don't go far from their truck or atv as is.

You can always get off the bike and walk, so the idea it restricts you from places you can go on foot is silly.

I'd be careful in some provinces like Manitoba. You are only permitted human powered transportation or horse if you are actually hunting. And hunting has a broader definition than pulling the trigger, it includes pursuing game. That said, it might be a handy way to get to the hunting area.

Tell that to all the truck hunters lol

You’re correct when you say one can’t hunt while on an e bike and this thread title might lead someone to think that. The purpose of the ebike for a hunter is strictly transportation to get you to your hunting area a bit quicker and with less effort, and of course the firearm would be unloaded.

And yes, the act of hunting is defined in various provincial regulations and most provinces agree that the act of hunting also includes lying in wait for, searching for, pursuing, chasing or shooting at wildlife so none of those are allowed while riding the ebike, or an ATV or a truck.

I always smile when seeing the “searching for” being mentioned when driving to the area I park my truck. I guess I shouldn’t be looking out the side window and only down the road, lol

I thought I covered the purpose of wanting a ebike in my post ..
Did not want to get into regulations and such , I know what that is
Seems difficult for some to stay on track
Transportation to hunting blinds or area's
I am mostly a bow hunter , crossbow actually
Looking for info on the best for transportation in the bush

Not sure how your 'bush' compares to ours here in the interior of BC, but I would certainly consider one for forest service roads and atv type trails. Through a cut block - not going to happen, at least with how they log around here.

you're off track again
Never been outa the house would explain
Honest question ? you ever seen a moose ? LOL

Transportation
Maybe the truth is , you don't have the money to buy one !!

Yes, lot's of moose especially in the winter. They browse on the willows along my driveway and even rob the crab apples we leave on for them.

We also have em at Safeway sometimes or chasing people on sidewalks, the CBC covered that, if you're curious. Never seen one strapped to a bicycle though, as mentioned before.

No, I'm not gonna spend money on another bicycle this time around, I still like walking and getting around on a "regular" bike, which brings me to places their electric counterparts cannot.

Hub motor bikes are best suited to well groomed relatively flat trails, mid drive bikes start approaching dirt bike mobility levels.

LOL . you stay with your hunting advise , you don't have the money

IN SAFEWAY .ooohhhh my, my
and on CBC ... you're a goof

Can’t be any worse than these guys I see cruising around in Sandilands on quads with guns. In Manitoba as far as I know, as long as you stay on established trails and don’t create your own trails it’s allowed. Any of the unmaintained roads are legal to shoot off as long as not shooting from a motor vehicle. You step out off or off the vehicle it’s legal to shoot game. You are not allowed to chase game however with vehicles so E-bike may or may not be included in that. But then again if it is NOT over 500 watts of power it is not considered a motor vehicle.
