. Very effective from 50m to a 100m with open sites and soft point ammo.

Sure it will work within it's limitations, but why limit yourself? Might also hurt your chances of receiving landowners permission to hunt their property. Yeah I know there's Crown land. Just my 2 cents.
Cheers
I'm planning on taking my Russian into the bush this deer season for the first time. Picked up some soft points and they shoot great. It may prove to be a bit on the heavy side but removing the bayonet should help![]()
why would it hurt my chances of getting land owners permission?
im not too worried about it my brother inlaw has a deer camp that will probably be the first place i hunt deer maybe the only as im not too interested in deer as i mentioned beforeTrust me on this. With over 25 years of hunting behind me, I've talked to many landowners about gaining access to their property. First impressions are everything. Dont get me wrong, I'm not Sh!ting on SKS's, they have a purpose. If you havent already, sign up for the next Hunter safety course in your area. Again, just my opinion for what it's worth.

yeah the tapco mags hold opendid they ever make a magazine that would make to those Tomato Stake SKS-D's (I use to have one) have bolt hold open capability after the 5th round ? No real hate against the SKS itself...I just didnt' like the D model (in case you missed the Tomato Stake comment).
